About
Georgia Done has spent nearly a decade immersed in current affairs. She excels in high-pressure situations, whether it’s being thrust into the field to cover breaking stories or delivering exclusive investigative long-form pieces. Georgia is dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable people are both protected and heard. She collaborates closely with whistleblowers and advocates for stronger legal safeguards to allow those who expose corruption and misconduct to do so without fear.
In 2022, Georgia relocated to the United Kingdom for a new challenge and quickly established herself as one of Scotland’s leading investigative journalists. As the only features producer for Scotland Tonight’s prime time Thursday night show, she spearheaded the creation of compelling stories, managed a small team of reporters and production journalists, and was involved in scripting, shooting, and editing. She also organised panelists, produced cross-platform content for the STV News at Six and STV News website, and often output the program as Executive Producer. Her achievements include filming a live heart transplant surgery, becoming the first journalist to gain access to HMP Shotts Prison in eight years, and earning two nominations at the Refugee Awards. Her work on social housing and homeless asylum seekers led to those in the stories being placed in safer accommodation.
At Network Ten Australia, Georgia was the sole on-the-ground producer for The Project during the historic coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. She produced live broadcasts, dynamic daily content, and in-depth packages from London. In Australia, Georgia frequently traveled from her Melbourne base to cover meaningful long-form stories, such as “Enough is Enough,” which was recognized at Australia’s prestigious Walkley Awards. She takes great pride in her ability to make people feel comfortable on camera, which has led her to securing worldwide exclusive interviews with figures like Shayna Jack and Rahaf Mohammed, a Saudi Arabian woman who narrowly escaped death while fleeing her country.
Before her tenure at Network Ten, Georgia was a prominent on-screen reporter for 7 News in Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, and Rockhampton. Her final role with the network was at 7 News Wide Bay, where she led a team of twelve, curated content for the highly-rated 6pm news, and delivered multiple packages daily. She was also on call for Sunrise and 7’s Brisbane newsroom.
